Andrew Hendrickson - teen

This is a picture of my father as a teenager.  This image was given to me by my son in law Jesse.  When Gordon was here staying with us just before John passed away, he and Jesse spent a lot of time talking about genealogy which they both enjoyed.  

He gave Jesse a link to on a family tree he had done using ancestry. 

Sometime after Gordon passed away unexpectedly 11 months later Jesse was looking at the tree and found this picture.

The odd thing is that how much Gordon resembled my father.

I expect this picture was taken in Gilbertsville NY about 1920.  My fathers middle name was Adna which is quite unusual - I've never come across anyone with it.,

It was common at this time to have  your family's pictures taken by a traveling photographer. 

I think we lived in New Berlin, NY when this was taken.

  I  can just imagine my Mother scooping us up and giving us a quick scrub, changing our clothes and perching us on the library table.

It was 1940 - I was one, Janet was 3 and Richard was 6.

I think this is the only picture I have of John as a young child.  He would be about 4 years old and Connie is 5.  I think they are standing outside their house on Salmon Street in Fort Covington, NY
