This is something I had thought about doing when I started my quilt journal blog. The reunion this weekend has prompted me to go back and look at some of the old pictures I brought home form my older sister's some years back.
On the back of the picture in my grandmother's hand, dated 1900.
My grandmother Mayme Niles (If she had a middle name I never heard it) who would be about 17 years old at this time is on the left.
In the center is George Hawley whom Mayme would soon marry.
On the right is Lottie Briggs, Mayme's very good childhood friend.
The Niles family lived in Shinhopple or Corbett at the time the picture was take and the studio was located in Downsville, New York.
I love the hats - I wonder if they are props from the photographer?
